For high school sophomore, Gianna Swift, volleyball is so much more than a sport. Swift wrote to us expressing her gratitude to the game for giving her so many wonderful friendships and connections. Further, she credits her club volleyball experience for teaching her time management and for pushing her to be her best on and off the court.
Swift recalls playing against a Starlings team many years ago, when she was just 10 years old, and learning about the club's mission to provide the sport to girls of all socioeconomic backgrounds. Still inspired today, she reached out to us to donate her summer earnings from coaching volleyball camps to help pay for the club dues of a Starlings player. Needless to say, we were humbled and impressed by this young woman's commitment to give back to the game that is still propelling her forward. Swift has aspirations to play at the college level and with the drive she has demonstrated, we have no doubt she'll make it.
Thank you Gianna for your inspiring donation!
