Mayor Declares Starlings Day in San Diego On Monday, June 18, 2001, Starlings Director Byron Shewman and two Starlings from San Diego (Balkis Nasery and Monique Bush) attended the City of San Diego Council Meeting at City Hall where Mayor Dick Murphy proclaimed Thursday June 21 as "Starlings Volleyball Club National Championship Day" in San Diego.
