Each year, Starlings players from around the nation come together in the San Diego area to compete in the Starlings National Championship.
The 2017 event, which marks Starlings Volleyball Clubs, USA's 21st year of existence, is poised to be a momentous one.
During the off-season, many new clubs were initiated around the nation, promising a higher level of competition and new power houses such as the teams from the Navajo reservation in Arizona, which rose to new prominence in 2016.
Last year, the event featured 103 team entries, and initial responses promise significantly more teams for this year's competition.
As usual, winners of the Literary/Art Contest will be announced at Nationals, and the Opening Ceremony will reveal the coolest moves of Starlings girls as the playing floor becomes a dance floor.
As expected, the all-important group of referees will be coming from Arizona where the experienced officials will have spent the season refereeing for the Arizona Volleyball Association.
With three or four days of top volleyball, and the opportunity to experience San Diego and its lovely beaches, the event promises to be, as always, an unforgettable one for its participants.
